Floating Cocktails, Right This Way

Chad Hanson, Owner and Operator of Electra House, recently won the Creator Grant in the inaugural ‘Bombay Sapphire Glasshouse Project;’ a national campaign that launched mid 2018 engaging bartenders to unlock their creative potential.
Last July, 60 of Australia’s most creative bartenders from around Australia competed for their chance to win the $20,000 Bombay Sapphire Creator Grant. Bartenders were challenged to invent a concept either for themselves, their customers, venue or the industry, whilst showcasing Bombay Sapphire Gin. They had to focus on the themes of sustainability, liquid, design and overall experience.
As part of the winning prize, Chad’s idea has been brought from concept to reality, launching at Electra House in a world-first.
“Growing up watching old western's, there was one scene repeated in a number of movies that has always stuck in my mind, and that's the classic ‘sliding glass of brown liquor down a bar’ scene. I was looking to bring that concept into the 21st century,” Says Chad.
Using Quantum Levitation, Chad and Bombay Sapphire have brought his idea to life, and staying true to the brand, the experience is aptly named ‘The Sapphire Serve.’
Chad explains, “The idea is to recreate that classic bar slide by levitating the glass from one end of the bar to another, which has never been done before here in Adelaide, let alone, Australia or the rest of the world!”
With a variety of signature Bombay Sapphire cocktails available, patrons can sit back, relax and wait for their drinks to float right on over to them.
An exclusive launch of the Sapphire Serve took place last night, February 18th 2020, at Electra House, and is now made available to the public for a limited time only.
