Join The Thirsty Farmer, an award-winning country pub in Baradine, NSW
We are looking for someone Mid-Long term. Someone to join our team and take on the kitchen. You’ll have the freedom and support to create a simple, tasty, and profitable menu, manage operations, and help grow the pub into a popular food destination with the support of the owner.
Someone who can:
Design and cost a simple, tasty, and profitable menu
Create simple specials
Manage stock, suppliers, and ordering
Oversee prep, recipes, and portion control
Manage budgets, targets and KPIs to ensure profitablity
Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
Work closely with owners to grow food trade and reputation
Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.
Have proven experience in a pub, café, or bistro kitchen
Demonstrate strong understanding of food costs, efficiencies, and ordering
Create quality meals efficiently and consistently
Take ownership and bring cost-effective ideas to the table
Contribute to menu planning and event catering
Show strong time-management and organisational skills
Take pride in presentation, cleanliness, and kitchen standards
Maintain excellent cost control, manage wastage, and price dishes accurately
Hold a Food Safety Certificate and
Solid knowledge of menu prep, costings, stock control, ordering, suppliers, service and marketing
Be comfortable working independently or as part of a small, friendly crew
