JOB DESCRIPTION

Join The Thirsty Farmer, an award-winning country pub in Baradine, NSW

We are looking for someone Mid-Long term.  Someone to join our team and take on the kitchen. You’ll have the freedom and support to create a simple, tasty, and profitable menu, manage operations, and help grow the pub into a popular food destination with the support of the owner. 

Someone who can:

  • Design and cost a simple, tasty, and profitable menu

  • Create simple specials

  • Manage stock, suppliers, and ordering

  • Oversee prep, recipes, and portion control

  • Manage budgets, targets and KPIs to ensure profitablity

  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards

  • Work closely with owners to grow food trade and reputation

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Have proven experience in a pub, café, or bistro kitchen

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of food costs, efficiencies, and ordering

  • Create quality meals efficiently and consistently

  • Take ownership and bring cost-effective ideas to the table

  • Contribute to menu planning and event catering

  • Show strong time-management and organisational skills

  • Take pride in presentation, cleanliness, and kitchen standards

  • Maintain excellent cost control, manage wastage, and price dishes accurately

  • Hold a Food Safety Certificate and

  • Solid knowledge of menu prep, costings, stock control, ordering, suppliers, service and marketing

  • Be comfortable working independently or as part of a small, friendly crew

  • RSA beneficial
