Sydney's new late-night wine bar 'Lil Sis' by Solotel

Solotel have opened a brand new late-night wine-bar and shop connected to their recently opened Abercrombie Hotel in Chippendale. With a connecting door leading to the Abercrombie Hotel as well as its own entrance, this mini addition to the Chippendale hospitality scene is something to look forward to. 

Inspired by the cave à vins in the neighbourhoods of Paris, Lil Sis is a cosy wine bar with leather booths and bar seating, suited to dropping in for a glass after work, or settling in for a (very) late night of wine tasting under the disco ball. 

The wine menu was curated by hospitality veteran and Head Sommelier, Zoe Brunto, and is ready to be perfectly paired with a wide range of charcuterie and cheese and even spaghetti jaffles! 

Zoe recently spoke to Bars & Clubs about her experience in the hospitality industry, 

“I’ve worked in hospitality since I was 14, starting out as a barista in cafes then becoming a bartender in my early 20s…“I enrolled into a couple of wine courses and the restaurant I was bartending at had an opening on the wine team, which I jumped at. From there, I was just hooked and have been lucky enough to work with some pretty great wine programs over the years.”

The wines span old to new world, natural and biodynamic through to the more traditional. Zoe expressed “I wanted the wine list to be diverse, interesting and above all else, have wines that are engaging and worth talking about…The idea behind Lil Sis is to showcase and share producers and wine regions we are excited about from all over the world. Some may be familiar, and some we believe you should get to know.”

This cosy wine bar is set to be the go-to spot for well-deserved glasses of wine this season, we’re pretty excited to say the least.
