The Art of Crafting a Perfect Piña Colada

Seen as we’re often getting 🎶caught in the rain 🎶at this time of year, it’s time to transport ourselves to the illusion of a summer in Europe and make Piña Coladas for your Saturday night or Sunday Afternoon (or any day of the week really, we won’t judge x).
So here’s the rundown on how to perfect the art of creating a piña colada, whether for your customers looking for something tropical, or for yourself in your at-home bar that will make your taste buds dance with delight.
Ingredients
Getting the ratios right is always hard when making the perfect cocktail, you of course can experiment a little to suit your own tastebuds, but when serving other people, this is my go-to:
- 45mL White Rum
- 45mL Pineapple Juice
- 30mL Coconut Cream
- 20mL Lime Juice
- 20mL Sugar Syrup
Method:
- Add all the ingredients to your cocktail shaker and fill with ice.
- Shake for about 30 seconds, you want the shaker to go ice cold (if you feel like your hands are about to freeze off, you’ve done it right)
- Pour everything, including ice, into a tall glass (bonus points if you get some decorative pineapple glasses, iI swear it tastes even better with them)
- Top with ice to fill the glass
- Garnish with a slice of pineapple or a dehydrated lime, even add one of those little umbrellas and maraschino cherries if you’ve got them at your disposal.
