So you've arrived in Brisbane, time is short and funds are tight...so where do you start on a 'beer' budget?!? How do you see it all, have enough left over for a brew at the end of the day, and still get amongst Brissy on the cheap!

1) Walkin, walkin, walkin, Brisbane is made for being on foot!  You can see all of the best parts of the city from West End to Southbank, over the bridge to the Queen Street Mall and then up the hill to Fortitude Valley...and what could be better than doing it with your very own FREE private tour guide!?!  Brisbane Greeters will gladly show you the sights so book now - Brisbane Greeters

2) When your legs have had enough, check out the Brisbane CityCat for a river cruise on a budget.  The CityCat is Brisbane's public transport on water, and with the chance to take in the 'River City' from a completely different perspective, jump on board to grab your insta pics from the outdoor decks.  For prices and timetables check out - CityCat Ferry Services

3) If you are lucky enough to visit Brisbane in the summer, head to the beach! Yes, South Bank has it's own beach with views of the city, not to mention parklands, bbqs and rainforest parks - South Bank Streets Beach

4) On yer bike!! CityCycle is available all over Brisbane and bikes are available for hire from as little as $2 bucks - CityCycle Bike Hire

5) Run to Paradise....or at least, Brissy's version of it! Stradbroke Island is only a short train ride from the city to Cleveland (approx $3.50 each way),  add a ferry ride on the Straddie Flyer ($20 return) and then once you have arrived catch the public bus over to Point Lookout for a day of whale watching, beach walks and living the island life!

6) Check our the local vibe by catching a free gig with Brisbane City Sounds - check out who's coming up - Brisbane City Sounds

7) Shop local! Check out our local wares and produce at the markets. Try Brisbane City Markets (every Wednesday) or Riverside Markets (every Sunday)

8) For the adventurers amongst us and if you have a bit of extra cash to splurge, check out River Life at the Kangaroo Point Cliffs for abseiling, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing.

9) Culture Vultures rejoice! Brisbane has a variety of cultural activities and precincts to check out for free. Visit the Queensland Museum,  Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) and the State Library.  Visit the QPAC website for opening times.

10) When you are laxed, and ready for that beer, there are plenty of iconic pubs arounds Brisbane that are welcoming and won't sting you for a pint or two! Try the local XXXX and kick back on one of our landmarks - Brisbane Historic Pubs

Brissy, BrisVegas, Brisbane has a lot to offer and all round stunning weather to match!  If you need to stay a few extra days, and want to grab some extra cash while in town, remember to update your Barcats profile with your new location, you may find a shift or two and some extra cash!
