Felons Brewing Co. are throwing a Birthday Brew Up to celebrate turning one!

Throwing a party to remember, Felons is welcoming back limited-edition releases which they have showcased during the last year, along with a new release featuring a quintessentially Queensland touch – the pineapple, birthday cupcakes and entertainment including a live art installation. With all this and more, Felons Brewing Co’s 1st Birthday Brew Up is the only place you need to be on the 22nd of November.
A hit with locals from the day their doors opened, Felons Brewing Co. have thrown themselves into the Brisbane community right from the start, hosting open days, seasonal feasts and welcoming other local Brisbane breweries to showcase their beers at a festival dedicated to beer and cider.
“We’re excited to invite the local community to our 1st Birthday Brew Up. The last twelve months have been an unbelievable journey, and the support we’ve received from Brisbane has been incredible, so we don’t think there is a better way to celebrate than by throwing a party!” said Felons Brewing Co’s Marketing Manager, Dean Romeo, of the brewery’s first year.
Kicking off their celebration with a range of limited-edition beers they have poured over the last year, including a Strawberry Watermelon Beer, Raspberry Sour and Red Ale, Felons have brewed something extra special for their birthday: a Charcoal Pineapple Sour Beer, made with over 250 kilograms of Queensland pineapples.
Tom Champion, Felons Brewing Co’s Head Brewer, said of their celebratory brew, “For our first birthday, we wanted to see how far we could push a beer to celebrate all the great things we have achieved over the last year. We’ve taken a quintessentially Queensland fruit and charred it up on our barbeques before adding it to a beer.”
“The result is quite the flavour sensation and is perfect for an ice-cold refreshing summer beer. For those who want to try it, we’ll be tapping it from 11am as part of our first birthday event,” continued Tom.
Along with beers and birthday cupcakes, there will also be a range of live entertainment appearing at Felons throughout the day, including an art installation by Brisbane street artist Leans. Known for creating works that are vivid in colour and structure, his work invites the viewer into an abstract interpretation of the architectural world. Leans’ art is inspired by the people and things he meets and sees in everyday life.
