Lindeman’s Gentleman’s Collection is again the Official Wine Partner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, which will entertain 750,000 festival-goers at the Melbourne CBD from March 27 to April 21, 2019.

The range of wines - featuring a Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Blend and Tawny – are inspired by Australian winemaking pioneer, Dr Henry John Lindeman who founded Lindeman’s in 1843.

As a doctor, he set his sights on civilising the hard-drinking colony of 1800s Australia by introducing them to more gentlemanly pursuits – mainly the enjoyment of a refined drop. Gentleman’s Collection wines are available at retailers and in venues, nationally.

Tasting notes:
Chardonnay – Full flavours of melon, peach and fig, with a fresh finish. Pair with chicken and seafood dishes.

Cabernet Sauvignon – Blue fruits with violet aromas and stewed fruits. Perfect with a roast leg of lamb with all the trimmings.

Shiraz – Plums and raspberry with a plush palate and a touch of pepper. Pair with beef tagine.

Red Blend – Liquorice, red berries and a hint of spice. A great match with barbequed meats.

Tawny – Concentrated, sweet fruit flavours, with hints of raisin. Perfect with chocolate desserts or a
cheese platter.
