Small Bars Getting Big Service

Jan 17, 2019

Small Bars Getting Big Service

From your corner cafe, to your dark dive bar and even over to your swanky but small mid city restaurant, Malt Shovel want to take the heavy lifting out of the hard stuff and help local operators solve problems getting in the way of serving good quality beer to more customers.

Now, we won’t get too technical and we promise to not bore you with buzz words, but here’s how they make it happen.

They make it easy

Getting beer in your business and in the hands of your loyal customers isn’t quite as simple as everyone might think. At Malt Shovel, they use a bit of tech to make your beer journey as smooth as it can be. The online ordering platformmeans they can set you up as a new customer super quick, get beer to you the next day, set up repeat orders and much more – no more scratching your head coming into a busy trading weekend with the dreaded sense that you’ve forgotten something crucial… like ordering enough beer from your supplier.

A bit of face time is a good time

While there’s all this talk about tech and ordering platforms they also love a good chat. That way you can get a bit of one on one time with a familiar face, ask us any questions, or bounce around any ideas you might have for your venue.

They do beer kung-fu

Fly kicking their way beyond just delivering you beer is their specialty; meaning they’re there for you when it comes to the big questions. Working together, they offer a full suite of advice from beer system solutions and finding the right range to match your venue, through to staff training and beer tastings. Some of the team are even Cicerones (that’s a bit like a beer sommelier) who can guide you through all you need to know, helping you get to beer ninja status in no time.

Pour it in

While we’re all for having a yarn, they’re also not afraid to get their hands dirty – and sometimes they do get pretty dirty. Not every bar, cafe or restaurant owner knows exactly how they should be looking after their beer taps or how often they should clean them. They also might be surprised when customers tell them a beer tastes a bit ‘funky’ because – unbeknownst to them or you – the taps are probably full of grime. Luckily, they firmly believe no one should drink grime-beer so have been known to roll up their sleeves and give venues a hand to make sure taps are cleaned and that venues have the skills to keep them that way so every drop is a good one

Can’t forget the beers

Of course, we’ve saved the best for last. Beer! They pride themselves on having some particularly delicious beers, brewed by some pretty talented brewers, some of whom are the best in the land – Chuck Hahn, Chris Sheehan, Robert Freshwater – to name drop a few. Beyond local favourites like Squires, Furphy (those tasty little blueberries) and XXXX Gold, they're also the proud Aussie home of Japan’s Kirin and New Zealand’s award winning craft beer Panhead Custom Ales, among others. Something for every punters palate across the country. Head here to learn more about their beer range.
