If humans continue our planet destroying ways, ol’ mate earth is adoomed. Plus, our Research and Development team at 42BELOW have figured out that if there is no planet, we can’t make vodka. We are not happy about that. So, we are Keeping the Planet Pure...toKeep our Vodka Pure. We’re working with the best bartenders across Australia and NZ to highlight their awesome planet-saving ways. These lasses and lads are doing their bit every day to help make their industry more sustainable. So, we thought we’d throw a bit of love their way.
The 42BELOW Sustainable Cocktail Showcase will see bartenders from around Australia and NZ creating and entering their best sustainable cocktails. But like the clock on our planet, the clock onthis comp is a tickin’. As of 11pm, Saturday 20 October, when many of Australia’s finest bartendersare mixing up many of our finest planet-saving cocktails, only 42 hours will remain until the deadline of 5pm, Monday 22 October.
The prize up for grabs is an unforgettable, life-changing sustainability experience. So when they come back to their bars and someone asks for a straw, they will make them wish they never did!
The 42BELOW Sustainable Cocktail Showcase aims to promote and celebrate the great work bartenders are doing to create cocktails which are both sustainable and delectable. Are you picking up the sustainable part? Our PR gurus said that if we mentioned it 17 times we’d get somethingcalled cut through? Anyway, the amount of trash us gross old humans are pumping out has accumulated in the Pacific Ocean and is now five times the size of New Zealand. That’s not#sustainable. It sucks. And 42BELOW wants to ensure #thefuturedoesntsuck.
Entries can be submitted via the 42BELOW Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/42BELOW) until 5pm, Monday 22nd October 2018 and will be judged for their creativity, sustainability and popularity. Entries must also be shared via entrants’ Instagram pages with the hashtag #42BELOW to be complete.
The Top Competitors will be announced on Thursday 1st November, while the voting period will run until January 2019. Two Australian and two Kiwi winners will be announced on Friday 8th February 2019.
