REQUIREMENTS

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re on the lookout for an experienced and energetic 2IC (Second in Charge) to help drive afternoon-to-late-night operations across both venues and support the business through its next exciting phase of growth. You’ll play a key leadership role managing a medium-sized team, ensuring smooth service, and delivering consistent brand experiences – from lunchtime rushes to evening crowds, weekend live sport, and vibrant night-time trade.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP (PEOPLE & PROCESS)

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing daily/nightly operations across Buckle Café & Distillery and Depot Brewery.
  • Lead and motivate a team of front-of-house and bar staff, ensuring consistent service standards and team morale.
  • Handle staffing matters including rosters, training, and performance management.
  • Maintain venue presentation, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

GROWTH & REVENUE SUPPORT (PROMOTION)

  • You will be the leader in our post 3pm Revenue KPI Targets with plenty of support.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute strategies to increase night-time trade and off-peak revenue, with a majority focus on 3pm ‘til late.
  • Champion initiatives for live entertainment, weekend sporting events, and local/corporate brand partnerships.
  • Drive engagement through community outreach, local events, and innovative promotions.
  • Monitor KPIs and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and inventory control. Customer &

BRAND EXPERIENCE (PLACE)

  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences and respond proactively to customer feedback.
  • Maintain brand consistency across both venues while supporting a cohesive dual-brand experience.
  • Create a welcoming environment that reflects our values and community-centric approach.  

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Hospitality experience: Minimum 5+ years in a supervisory or manager role, preferably across café, bar and/or brewery settings.
  • Leadership skills: Confident team leader with strong communication, conflict resolution, and people management abilities.
  • Business acumen: Understanding of hospitality operations, cost controls, and event management.
  • Passion for local culture: A genuine interest in craft beer, entertainment, and connecting with the local community.
  • Flexibility: Available to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and event nights.
