JOB DESCRIPTION

The award-winning Glen Hotel and Suites features 43 luxurious guest rooms and suites, solar heated outdoor swimming pool and gymnasium. Designed by Blueprint Architects, the hotel offers well-appointed, functional rooms with complimentary wireless internet, on-demand movies, Foxtel channels, in-room minibar, room service and is just metres from The Glen Hotel which offers a coffee shop, casual dining area, full-service Restaurant, gaming, conference rooms, and a Marquee.

The Glen Hotel and Suites is a family owned and operated hotel owned by the same family for 60 years.  We are an essential part of our local community located on the south side of Brisbane with great access to Brisbane CBD, the Gold Coast, Brisbane airport and the Ipswich corridor.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team in the role of a casual Front Office Receptionist.

Your Role-

  • Effective Management of all guest arrivals and departures ensuring that check in and check out procedures are followed
  • Preparation of cashiers reports
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping and Maintenance departments to ensure that the hotel is always clean and well maintained
  • Maximize room occupancy at best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions ensuring that city ledger accounts are processed
  • Taking reservations
  • Process and deliver in-room dining

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Front Office
Front of Desk Supervisor

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Previous experience using Microsoft Opera is preferred
  • Previous experience in Front Office within a 4/5-star hotel or resort
  • Excellent phone answering skills
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Be able to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Hands-on approach
  • Availability including afternoons and nights
