JOB DESCRIPTION

Our apprenticeship program is designed for people who are committed to pursing a career in hospitality but would like to earn while they learn. You’ll get hands-on experience in the business of hospitality, world-class training from top professionals in the field, and incredible opportunities to put into practice what you’re learning in the classroom. Upon successful completion of your qualification, you can explore a world of possibilities with career pathway opportunities across one of the world’s largest and most respected hotel groups.  

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be a motivated person with a positive attitude and a keen interest to progress your culinary career. Working with us you will develop your skills by gaining exposure  to varying styles of kitchen operations and different styles of cuisine including Mediterranean, Modern Australian, Pan-Asian, Seafood and Cali-Mex. You will be supported by many experienced chefs whilst being involved daily in the preparation and production of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner services across our five different Food & Beverage outlets on island: giving you the opportunity to perfect your skills and gain exposure in a la carte, bistro, and fine dining operations.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for enthusiastic and professional team players who knows how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations. To be successful you will need:

  • Passion and creativity for great food and drive to deliver excellent service as part of a multifaceted site.
  • Either currently enrolled as a second- or third-year apprentice or seeking to commence an apprenticeship program (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery).
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive & professional manner.
  • The ability to take direction with the right attitude and an enthusiastic learner.
