Located on the beautiful Brisbane River just 15 minutes from the CBD, Bulimba Golf Club (officially known as the Queensland Sporting Club) is a much-loved 9-hole, par 3 golf course—and a thriving community hub.

We’re a not-for-profit club with a strong social calendar, a loyal membership base, and a reputation for warm hospitality. From casual rounds of golf and corporate events to weddings and weekend celebrations, we host a little bit of everything—and we do it well.

With four flexible event spaces, a popular sports bar and restaurant, and a 90-metre practice range, we offer a unique lifestyle experience for both members and guests.

The Role: 
We’re on the lookout for a proactive and service-focused Assistant Bar Manager to help lead our vibrant front-of-house team. This is a hands-on role that supports the day-to-day running of our bar and events operations, working closely with the Venue Manager to ensure every guest enjoys a great experience.

You’ll be someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to bring positive energy to every shift.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting the Bar Manager in bar operations and team leadership

• Delivering outstanding service during busy service periods

• Managing opening and closing duties with confidence and attention to detail

• Ensuring the bar and event spaces are always guest-ready

• Assisting with staff training, rostering, and general back-of-house tasks

• Handling guest enquiries or issues with professionalism and care

What You Bring:

• Experience in a similar hospitality leadership role

• A passion for creating great customer experiences

• The ability to stay cool under pressure and keep the team motivated

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Availability across a 7-day roster (primarily Wednesday to Sunday, including evenings and public holidays)

• A can-do attitude and a genuine team player mindset
