About The Island Hotel Gold Coast…

The Role…

 As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager the position is responsible for all the food and beverage operations, which includes restaurants, bars, functions and room service operations. Oversees guest and employee satisfaction, maintaining standards and meeting or exceeding financial goals. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food and beverage laws and regulations. Develops and implements business plan for food and beverage.


 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive guest satisfaction across all outlets empowering our collaborators to provide service beyond customers’ expectation in service periods
  • Foster a culture of innovation and breaking the norm
  • Provide hands-on leadership across your outlets
  • Collaborate closely with Kitchen leadership team
  • Oversee financials for the department, driving revenue generation, productivity cost control and adherence to financial policy/procedures
  • Ensure on-job department training is being conducted to meet our high service standard.
  • Select, train and supervise food and beverage Collaborators (our name for staff)
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and workplace health and safety
  • Contribute to industry best practice and cutting edge innovations in the dining world
  • Plan and organise special events and promotional activations


 

Ideally you will have:

  • A valid QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency card
  • An outgoing, vibrant and professional attitude
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage budgets/costings
  • A strong understanding of Food and Beverage service and culinary 
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role in a 4 - 5-star hotel environment
  • Inspirational leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
