YHA is seeking a Assistant Manager to join the Brisbane City YHA. This role will oversee the daily operations of the property and supervision of team members and be the first line of support.  Essentially, you will be working as part of a collective to run and operate YHA, with the opportunity to learn and grow within a team of experienced & fun staff.

Day-to-Day Can Look Like…

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the property,
  • Supporting front office operations by handling guest queries and feedback, selling YHA products, and working to ensure the team is providing excellent customer service at all times,
  • Assisting the Manager in the recruitment, supervision, and training of team members,
  • Working closely with the team and management of YHA's Brisbane City property to ensure cooperation between the hostels, and
  • Assuming responsibility for the property in the Manager's absence.

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A people person with fantastic communication skills and can work with people from different cultural backgrounds,
  • Computer literate with fantastic attention to detail (previous experience with reservation systems is a bonus),
  • Able to work well under pressure and problem-solve with a cool head,
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service,
  • Happy to step into any role when necessary and perform a wide range of duties, and
  • Flexible availability 24/7 roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • A positive, proactive person with creativity, great ideas, and a sense of fun!
