Bodriggy Brewing Co is looking for a hospitality leaders for two positions of Assistant Venue Manager & Bar Manager at one of Melbourne's busiest brewpubs in Abbotsford.

About the Business:

Bodriggy is a fast paced, large and multifaceted brewpub and music venue located on lower Johnston street (LoJo) Abbotsford. Featuring 3 x bars including, Stingray's Upstairs – a swish cocktail saloon; an iconic Front Bar and Take Away Shop; the main 13 meter long brewpub bar. 

All our beers are made in house including limited release beers. While we focus on froff, first and foremost, our backbar is a proud selection of mezcal, tequila and more–which is reflected in our seasonal cocktail menu. A strong weekly music program features DJs, bands and bi- annual festivals we push to create an experience to exceed guest expectations.

We are open 7 days a week with a fully functioning kitchen. Our menu focuses on quality Mexican cuisine with South American influences in a casual setting. 

About the Roles:

Assistant Venue Manger

First and foremost, has the right attitude, hardworking, humble and someone eager to learn. Being comfortable in your surroundings and having the ability to manage & train people with confidence. This will be a hands-on service role. You’ll be assisting the Venue Manger with running the venue, managing the team especially on the busy times & implementing and maintaining staff training standards. It will also include looking after the general operations for both FOH and BOH, including implementing, updating & assisting with general admin, rosters, cash handling, emails and conducting weekly management meetings. Things that would be beneficial are Beer knowledge and passion, having worked both bar and floor in big busy venues, understanding and creating ambiance and reading the room.

You will be working with an amazing and humble team who have created a great working environment. We are hospo professionals who want to help develop and grow the next generation of staff within our venue. We want to set you up to succeed within our community and have implemented the correct processes, inductions, and ongoing training to help you do this.

Skills and experience

• 2 years management experience in a similar role
• Excel in the management of team and guest satisfaction
• Demonstrate good leadership qualities
• Exceptional customer service standards
• The ability to resolve disputes and altercations in a calm and positive manner
• Able to work quickly and efficiently
• Able to work in fast paced situations & make difficult decisions while keeping your cool
• Experience in dealing with HR and OH&S & liquor licensing
• Have sound administrative and computer skills
• Sound proficiency using booking platforms, Pos systems & administrative platforms
• An understanding of P&L’s, weekly budgets, forecasting and COGS costing.
• Organised and hardworking with a strong commitment to furthering your own career
• A complete level of business, management, and financial skills with a commitment of achieving outstanding results. 

Bar Manager Role:

At Bodriggy we believe this is a unique and wonderful position for an up-and-coming Bar Manager. We are looking for someone with raw talent, a great attitude towards the job, someone who is going to grab the role by two hands and give it a red-hot crack. We need someone who wants to take the next step in their hospitality career. We are looking for someone who can manage multiple bars with the ability to help grow, mentor, and raise the standards of the team while having fun and creating an even better working environment. We are looking for someone who can handle working in a fast pace, late nights and on the weekends during our busiest times.

Skills and experience

• Two years' experience as a Bar Manager or similar senior role
• Passion for the industry
• Drinks menu design and development
• Extensive knowledge of beers, wines, cocktails, and current beverage trends
• Strong people management and coaching skills to lead a high energy team
• Experience running large beverage programs
• Maintaining a controlled inventory will be a key focus including invoice data entry & Stocktaking
• Strong computer literacy
• Team-orientated while being Outgoing, personable & friendly
• Creative flair
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
