About Us
Are you passionate about creating unforgettable experiences in a picturesque coastal setting? Do you have a dream of managing a venue that captures the spirit of a vibrant beach town? If so, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
David Moyle, the renowned chef behind Franklin, Longsong, Harvest, and Salty Mangrove, is opening The Clam - a seaside tavern and neighbor of the Lorne Theatre. This is a realisation of a long-held dream for David, who grew up in Port Fairy and always wanted to return to Lorne with an offering worthy of the area.
At The Clam, our ambition is to be the other place - a laid-back venue where people can come straight from the beach with sand on their feet and feel welcome. With its terraced deck offering stunning ocean views and a big beach shack energy, The Clam is perfectly suited to David Moyle's approach to creating memorable experiences.
The Clam is inspired by the emerging vision of the corner of Mountjoy and Grove as a coastal culture and hospitality precinct. The design and vibe of the space will reflect Lorne's bohemian past, where great art and music were created and enjoyed as part of a 70s surf/ski counter-culture.
As the Venue Manager of The Clam, you will play a pivotal role in bringing David Moyle's vision to life. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue, collaborating with the team to provide exceptional customer service, managing a diverse staff, and ensuring the venue reflects the unique spirit of Lorne.
To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience in venue management, a passion for creating memorable experiences, and strong leadership skills.
If you are inspired by the natural beauty of Lorne and have a desire to create a space that respects and celebrates the undeniable truth of this stunning coastal town, then we want to hear from you!
The Clam will open its deck on Boxing Day, with the full venue opening in January.
