About the role:

Alcatraz Sydney is a new, multifaceted venue in the inner west. Primarily serving as a bespoke cocktail and Tapas bar, Alcatraz also doubles down as a live music venue and hub for everything culture, all within a heritage, industrial building and fit-out. This Role is a cornerstone piece to our small collaborative team, and therefore prioritises an individual that compliments an upbeat work culture with a swiss army knife approach. Our bar manager role is best suited to a creative person looking to build on their managerial experience in the hospitality space, whilst also sharing a passion to work with and amongst the array of creative industries surrounding Alcatraz.

Key responsibilities:

• Customer service and FOH management
• Liaising with events teams
• Opening and closing the venue
• Stock control and ordering
• Staff management
• Managing customer experience 
• Marketing and promotions of food and drinks
• Upholding venue protocol and procedures
• Product development and ideation

About you:

• Strong communication skills
• Friendly and outgoing personality
• Strong work ethic and ability to apply themselves to any task presented
• Passionate about customer service
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Well presented

Experience:

• 2+ years in a bartending position
• Professional cocktail making experience Required**
• Holds a current RSA certificate
• Proficient understanding of POS systems
