About the Club

The Queensland Sporting Club – or Bulimba Golf Club, as it’s known - is a 9-hole, par 3 golf course located on the Brisbane River in inner East Brisbane, just 15 minutes from the Brisbane CBD. 

Bulimba GC is a not-for-profit, community-based club with a significant golfing and non-golfing membership base. The Club takes pride in supporting the local community and hosts many golf and social events throughout the year.

The Club accommodates a wide variety of events and is the ideal venue for corporate golf days, social golf groups, weddings, Christmas parties and birthday celebrations.

The facilities include four versatile event spaces, including a newly refurbished Clubhouse with its own dedicated sports bar and restaurant. There is also a 90-metre practice range and putting green.

The Role

The Bar Manager will be responsible for the management of bar operations, working closely with our venue management teams to deliver our members and guests outstanding service. This is a "hands on" role working closely with all departments.

What You'll Be Doing

Key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following areas:

• Previous experience in a similar role - in a members’ club preferred

• Proven experience operating in a fast-paced, high volume service environment.

• The flexibility to work over a seven day roster (predominantly Thurs – Mon), evenings and public holidays

• Well organised with experience in back of house tasks: rostering, beverage ordering, stock control and POS management.

• Track sales and performance, and report directly to the General Manager

• Experience with function and event management

• Hire, train and lead a standout FOH team

• Ensuring Club facilities are presented in the best possible manner

• Opening and closing the Club

• Dealing with any member / guest issues
