Bar Staff – Bar & Cocktail Bartenders | Cookie | Melbourne CBD

Cookie, located in the heart of the CBD, is on the hunt for a few more additions to our bar team.
We’re currently looking for experienced bartenders who can pivot between our front bar and cocktail bar with ease and confidence.

This is a hands-on role for bartenders who thrive in a busy service, know their classics, and want to be part of something creative and fast-paced. We’ve got 25–35 hours on offer, with potential for full-time.

Who we are:
Cookie is a Melbourne institution—now into its 21st year. We blur the lines between cocktail bar, beer hall, and Thai eating house. We’re known for our 10-page cocktail menu, 24 beer taps, encyclopaedic wine list, and an extensive Thai food offering that people travel for.

We’re proudly over the top when it comes to what we serve, but we keep it grounded when it comes to how we work. Hospitality is at the heart of it. Our team brings warmth, knowledge, and a bit of cheek to every shift—and we like to have fun while we do it.

Training and product knowledge are a big deal to us—there’s no point offering all this if we can’t talk about it. We want bartenders who are curious, collaborative, and passionate about the drinks they serve. We're also keen on people who are open to being cross-trained and jumping into different parts of the bar as needed.

What we’re looking for:
– Bartenders with solid experience and confidence behind the bar
– A strong understanding of classic cocktails and an interest in spirits, beer, and wine
– Someone who’s keen to get involved in the creative side of our cocktail list
– People who enjoy the pace of high-volume service and stay cool under pressure
– A team player who values hospitality, not ego
– Good chat, good attitude, and a willingness to learn
– Openness to cross-training across front bar and cocktail bar
