ABOUT THE ROLE

• Serving customers and making them feel welcome
• Preparing and serving outstanding hot/cold beverages
• Ensuring coffee utensils and equipment are clean and sanitised regularly
• Helping with general duties including accurate order taking, cash handling, serving food, cleaning, and supporting the team with your infectious ‘can do’ attitude

WHO WE ARE

We are Australia’s largest and oldest Student Union. We are about students on Campus. As the primary provider of coffee & food on campus our venues are diverse and cater to all areas of the University including our own Food Truck & Coffee Van.

HOURS OF WORK

38 hours per week, between the hours of 7am-5:30pm during Monday-Friday (depending on the business' needs some flexibility is required).

$52,750 p.a. + 11% Superannuation

ABOUT THE USU

The USU (University of Sydney Union) is a not-for-profit organisation, whose purpose is to be the heart of campus life and we have been doing that since 1874.
Led by a student board elected by our members, the USU provides events on campus such as WelcomeFest, festivals, events and parties. We also run an amazing array of programs, including an active volunteering program and a Language Exchange Program, to name a few. We support over 200 Clubs and Societies as well as operate bars, food and retail outlets across campus, providing great coffee, fresh affordable food, graduation gown hire and official USYD merchandise.

YOU WILL HAVE

• At least 1 years’ experience working with commercial coffee machines in high volume environment (5kgs + per day) and a passion for coffee
• At least 1 years’ demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, customer experience focused food environment (café / restaurant / qsr)
• At least 1 years’ experience using a POS in a food and beverage environment
• An infectiously positive, flexible, hardworking attitude towards work
• Strong level of verbal and written communication skills
• A love of coffee and great food
• Committed to delivering exceptional customer service
