JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to join the Cambridge Hotel.

Cambridge Hotel has been part of the Wellington hospitality landscape for many years. It is made up of unique dining locations, diverse bar areas, Gaming, TAB and accommodation. Some of our rooms have the best views in the city, with easy access to a number of central Wellington sites.

The Trinity Group are resuming operations of this great hotel to re-establish it as one of the best food, drink and celebration venues in Wellington.  The Cambridge Hotel offers a fabulous and rewarding work environment and is fortunate to have a dedicated and energetic team behind it. The Hotel operates 7 days a week breakfast, lunch and dinner till late.

We are looking for a candidate who has strong expertise and experience in iconic  bars and restaurants.  TAB & Gaming experience and high service standards are key requirements for this role.

The Venue Manager is responsible for the daily management of the venue and ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service. This includes effectively allocating work to and supervising employees in all frontline areas, as well as maintaining and complying with all safety, stock and equipment procedures.

This role is integral to the success of our operation of the hotel, Key Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Staff management
  • Patron management
  • Overseeing implementation of RSAS
  • Customer enquiries and/or complaints
  • Enforcing and advocating hotel Policies and Procedures
  • Being a positive team-focused individual who leads by example

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in effectively managing staff/leading a team
  • A demonstrated passion for service and all things food and beverage
  • Sound knowledge of Hotel industry and hospitality trends more generally
  • The ability to actively mentor and develop potential leaders within the team and foster an environment of growth and professionalism
  • The ability to create, implement and monitor operational systems and procedures
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism
  • Current RSAS + TAB Qualifications
  • A can-do attitude
