JOB DESCRIPTION

At General Commissary we are on a mission to lift food truck hospitality to a new high and need somebody to lead it. If you think life is too short for bland food and that there is no better feeling than when somebody asks you for seconds, then this is the job for you.

 

With an ever-changing menu, and you in the driver’s seat, your role is to bring these recipes to life and share them with Sydney’s food truck goers. We want someone who thinks outside the box (in this case ‘truck’) and brings passion and enthusiasm to the role. As catering manager, you will recruit and lead the team and focus on driving regular and sustainable improvement in our catering performance.

 

For the right candidate, work hours and days can be flexible.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has the ability to work unsupervised, and oversee the day-to-day operation of the food truck
  • Works well under pressure in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
  • A commitment to genuine and friendly customer service
  • Manage production costs
  • Stock ordering and stock management
  • Manage preparation of food items prior to food service (in collaboration with a cook)
  • Be able to meet at designated meeting area, participate in event service and ensure the truck is clean for the next shift
  • Adherence to food and general safety practices and sanitation guidelines
  • Positive and professional ‘can do’ attitude
  • Willing to work in a team environment
  • Able and willing to be cross trained on all other departments of the truck (cashier, driver, preparation, etc.)
  • Pride in personal appearance and hygiene
  • Be driven by quality and customer satisfaction
  • Punctual and reliable
  • NSW manual Drivers License (essential)
