JOB DESCRIPTION

Located conveniently on Norman Street close to Stockland Wendouree our centre provides early learning experiences for children 6 weeks to 6 years. Our 6 generously sized learning hubs create an environment for our children that is friendly, homely, and secure. The learning hubs are packed full of rich and inviting learning experiences for your children to explore which in the Kindergarten room, includes a modern approach to technology allowing children the freedom to discuss and explore the wider world around them.

At Green Leaves Early Learning Wendouree, we love to encourage children to develop their imagination and creativity, knowledge, independent thinking, and sense of wonder through exploring their own ideas and interests. They are supported and guided in this pursuit by a team of warm, nurturing, professional educators. We offer a fully approved and funded, 3 and 4-year-old Kindergarten program, based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). Our Kindergarten program is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher.

REQUIREMENTS

About the Role

  • Prepare a wide variety of nutritious meals, purees and special diet meals for babies and children as well as freshly baked treats for families daily
  • Experienced in planning a rotation menu and confident in stock rotation, budgeting, and shopping for the kitchen
  • Enjoy greeting and interacting with our families in a friendly manner and provide barista service (training provided if you are not experienced with this)
  • Display excellent verbal, written and time management skills with high levels of initiative
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements
  • Team player who is open to different styles of working in a kitchen and receptive to feedback
  • Able to guide, mentor, support and work professionally with a Kitchen hand
  • Provide culinary classes alongside our educators to even the littlest in our centres!
  • Prior experience working in a childcare or aged care kitchen (preferred, but not essential)

Qualifications

  • Completed minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality 
  • Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (health & community sector)
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates
  • Current Child Protection Training
