Chef de Partie – Fomo Cinemas (East Brunswick)
Permanent Part-Time | Approx. 20–30 hours per week
$30–$34 per hour | 

At Fomo Cinemas, we do movies differently. Think cult classics, indie gems, themed nights—and a chef-led menu that puts a fresh spin on cinema snacks. We’re a hospitality-driven, film-loving team serving up great food with zero pretension and lots of creativity.

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant, collaborative environment, with input into evolving food ideas and creative event catering.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of quality dishes during service
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment & section
  • Manage stock rotation and daily prep to ensure smooth service
  • Running service with our team during busy cinema sessions
  • Support ongoing menu development and contribute ideas for specials and events
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Take charge of kitchen operations when the Head Chef is off-site
  • Lead by example and support junior staff with training, mentoring, and feedback
  • Uphold high standards of kitchen conduct and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role within a commercial kitchen
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Able to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to consistency
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for hospitality and creativity
  • Available to work evenings and weekends (essential)
  • Contribute ideas that align with Fomo’s playful, film-inspired approach to food
  • Stay informed on food trends and customer preferences to help keep offerings fresh and engaging

      Uniform is Standard PPE - Protective non-slip shoes, apron, black shirt, black or chef's pants, own knives.
