About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Full Time Chef to work at our Royal New Zealand Air Force Base site in Whenuapai, Auckland. Hours of work are rostered across 7 days - you will need to be flexible.

Our Perfect team member:

You will have at least 3 years in industrial high volume kitchen and will be able to work unsupervised and supervise a small team of staff, Trade training in catering as well as complete a Food Hygiene course

Knowledge of all general kitchen activities

Hours of work range between 05:30 starts and 20:30 finishes, there is the odd occasion when functions are held that you will finish a bit later than 20:30.

What you will be doing?

In this position you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will preparing, cooking and serving food for a buffet, a cook to order menu, and functions as required. Being a good all-rounder in the kitchen is a must! You will also be assisting with stock take, and general kitchen and cleaning duties.

The perfect team member will be hard working, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. You will already have proven experience working in a commercial kitchen cooking both bulk and 'a la carte' menus. You will hold a Chef qualification and food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168). You will need to hold a full clean drivers licence. You will be a superb team player and demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality!
