The role

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will have the opportunity to work with native Australian ingredients, premium products, and be part of a team who are striving for excellence and working their way towards earning a Chef’s Hat. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

  • Preparing and presenting menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
  • Ordering necessary foods according to proposed business demands. Consulting with the Executive Chef for guidance and authorisation of order.
  • Work with and co-ordinate the work of apprentices in the preparation and production of food as required.
  • Prepare and ensures availability of mis en place as required.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef.
  • Must have 7-day availability. 
  • Extensive knowledge on food and beverage practices.
  • Your enthusiasm and passion for food preparation.
  • Extensive knowledge on food safety practices.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and someone who leads by example.
