Your day to day

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be a motivated person with a positive attitude who has an interest to progress your culinary career, develop your skills, and expose yourself to varying styles of kitchen operations and different styles of cuisine.

You will be responsible for producing a wide range of quality products whilst exercising your knowledge of hygiene and safety and maintaining our high guest service standards.

You will be exposed to, and work in all areas of the kitchen, learning from senior Chefs in a large kitchen operation with strong culinary skills and quality offerings. You will be involved daily in the preparation and production of breakfast, lunch and dinner services across our Restaurants and Bars, giving you exposure to a la carte, bistro, fine dining and bar style cookery.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Commis Chef

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will;

  • 1 to 2 years previous culinary experience in a hotel or luxury restaurant environment
  • Commercial cookery certification and preferably you will have worked with a food safety system such as HACCP.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm to learn new things and above all, a can do attitude
  • Ability to stay organised and on top of your work at all times.
  • Self-motivated and will perform your role with a sense of urgency.
  • Creatively focused and have a genuine passion for creating exceptional cuisine.
  • the ability to work a rotating roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays and Australian work rights is also a must.
  • You must hold also hold a current Australian driver’s license.
