JOB DESCRIPTION

The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman, Novotel and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 532 guest rooms, 3 restaurants, Rooftop Event Space, Executive Lounge, IRD`s and 17 meeting spaces. Located at the Brisbane Airport.

The Brisbane Airport Conference Centre boasts 11 conference and meeting rooms, including a 300 seat pillar-less ballroom, boardrooms, business centre, cloakroom and generous breakout terraces. This Centre will be capable of hosting up to 600 delegates at any one time. 

The Brisbane Airport Conference Centre is currently seeking a motivated and experienced full time, salaried Conference Centre Supervisor to join our dynamic and professional team. 

Operational Duties

  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional food and beverage service is provided to all guests.
  • Provide for guests and patrons an experience and environment they feel meets their expectations.
  • Familiarize yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.
  • Liaise with customers and Chef/kitchen brigade to ensure service times are adhered to.
  • Ensure revenue for the shift is accounted for with cash/charge summary being completed to balance daily activities.
  • Set up systems to protect and maintain control of restaurant and conference service equipment, correctly recording breakages and carry our regular stock takes.
  • Set up and maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant and conference centre to achieve the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place is completed prior to guests arriving.
  • Ensure staff are competent in all service procedures and they are able to maximize sales to guests.
  • Ensure guest billing is completed accurately following Hotel procedure and that correct charges are posted.
  • Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
  • Maintain currency of RSA certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles.
  • Working alongside Human Recourses to establish on-going on job training to meet brand and service standards.

REQUIREMENTS

Who are we looking for?

  • You will ideally have previous experience in a similar role, and are looking to work in a larger operation or a Team Leader ready for their next step.
  • Previous experience within a conference & hotel environment is preferable, however not essential.
  • Flexible to work variable shifts including early starts, weekends and public holidays, as this position operates on a rotating roster
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
  • A passion and working knowledge of latest food and wine trends.
  • Hold a valid RSA – essential.
  • An understanding on Workplace Health & Safety measures.
