We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic short order Cook to join a very busy Cafe team at our new store at IGA on Bloomfield St in Cleveland, on Brisbane's bayside.

IGA on Bloomfield is more than just a one stop shop for pantry staples, but rather a foodie destination for those wanting a real shopping experience. 

The Role:

As the Café Cook you will work with the Cafe team and be responsible for cooking of a breakfast, snack and lunch seasonal menus, food preparation and presentation, opening/closing the kitchen, maintaining a clean work area and adhering to all Food Safety standards while providing excellent customer service.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Clean and organised kitchen in accordance with Food Safety regulations
• Operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow recipes and presentation standards
• Inventory Management process
• Basic cooking and baking
• Safe and hygienic storage of food products
• Meet customer dietary requirements as needed
• Assist with food service
• Deliver excellent Customer Service

Skills the successful applicant will have:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced kitchen cooking breakfast and lunch menus
• Enthusiastic, be willing to learn food preparation techniques
• Proactive attitude with the ability to react & adapt quickly
• Food safety experience essential
• Knife skills essential
• Excellent communication skills
• A genuine passion for food and cooking
• Must be able to work a varied roster including weekends
• Must live in close proximity to Cleveland (Redlands/Brisbane)
