JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking highly skilled sushi and teppanyaki cooks to join our team at Koko Restaurant! 

Koko is known for its serene setting aided by a beautiful water feature garden that takes pride of place in the restaurant. Koko offers teppanyaki, a la carte tables, a sake bar, sushi bar, tatami and teppanyaki rooms, all with breathtaking views of the Yarra River and the Melbourne city skyline.


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Apprentice Chef
Breakfast Chef
Chef de Partie
Executive Chef
Head Chef
Cook

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Key Selection Criteria:  

  • Japanese Cuisine experience  
  • Sushi and Sashimi skills and experience highly desirable (for sushi opportunity)
  • Experience as Teppanyaki Cook will be highly regarded ( for teppanyaki opportunity)
  • Possess excellent knife and cooking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy interacting with customers 
  • Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP
  • Must be able to work a across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
