JOB DESCRIPTION

The Glebe Hotel has an exciting opportunity for a professionally career focused duty manager to join its team.

About us

With a strong emphasis on a quality food & beverage offering and welcoming staff, we cater to our corporate clientele and locals alike with a traditional public bar including a TAB, a fully serviced 70 seat restaurant located in the heritage listed stables, a leafy beer garden and our first floor cocktail bar which caters to functions and gatherings from 20 to 150 persons.

About the role

You will lead the team with a hands on approach to enhance our customers overall experience, overseeing the daily operations of all front of house procedures in our public bar, tab, gaming room, restaurant and function areas. Other key aspects in the role will include:

  • responsibility for overseeing 10+ staff at any one time
  • train, motivate and develop a dynamic team to ensure our customers always receive a positive experience
  • cash reconciliation and detailed reporting 
  • gaming & TAB operational experience preferred
  • understanding of cellar operations
  • good working knowledge of Now Book It (or similar) online reservations system
  • report directly to the licensee
  • safety and security of patrons and the hotel premise

REQUIREMENTS

About you - The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, be career focused and have strong leadership qualities. Other key skills and experience will include:

  • a minimum of two years’ experience in pub and restaurant management
  • strong communication skills with the ability to successfully liaise with management, customers and staff
  • A genuine interest in food, wine, beer and cocktails
  • ability to share knowledge, mentor and train staff
  • strong work ethic with a positive, proactive can-do attitude
  • an interest in social media platforms
  • understand and respect the policies and procedures that assist in successfully running the business
  • high personal and professional standards
  • valid RSA & RCG certification
