JOB DESCRIPTION

Join The Ville Resort-Casino as the Event Operations Venue Manager and lead our banquets team to deliver show-stopping events.

The Ville is a 4.5 star resort and casino that has undergone a $45 million redevelopment to make it one of Queensland’s hottest tourism destinations. The property is on the verge of opening Ardo, an $88 million sister hotel which will bring a new standard of luxury accommodation to North Queensland. 

The Events Operations team is one of the property’s largest departments and is responsible for the service of all events. From small scale corporate meetings, community networking functions and social events to large scale events, weddings, galas and balls, they are on the frontline of providing an impeccable experience to guests. 

We’re seeking a Manager who will lead our banquets team and have direct accountability over cost structure, productivity and quality standards. They will work closely with our senior management team to ensure all catering and service requirements are delivered on schedule and to an exemplary standard. 

This position is well suited to a motivated and dynamic individual wanting to take their events career to the next level.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • A born leader with the ability to lead a team of 40 or more people
  • A business brain with commercial business acumen to build the business contributing to the overall bottom line
  • Proven event operations management experience with strong knowledge of the requirements of event management of a wide variety of events
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Possess financial aptitude to ensure the probability of event food, beverage and operations
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Proven record of mentoring staff with experience in training, motivating and developing staff
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of bar and restaurant operations including sequence of service, mentoring , customer relations, recruitment and budgets
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a passion for developing and growing a service-focused team
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Outstanding communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • A proactive and innovative approach
  • An outgoing personality with a positive attitude 
  • Current QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
  • Current Responsible Management of Licenced Venues Certificate and Approved Manager’s Licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in hospitality, retail, business or related field would be desirable
