Metropolis Events - Australian Wedding Venue of the Year 2022/2003 are seeking an experienced Event Planner.

Our philosophy is built around creating memorable dining and entertainment experiences, innovative menus designed using seasonal local produce and a focus on current food trends, impeccable service and most importantly, delivering exceptional events that exceed client and guest expectations at all times.

The opportunity

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Event Planner. We are searching for someone with an energetic, relatable personality… someone who adds a bit of 'sparkle' when they walk into a room. As an integral member of our event team, you will be responsible for the planning and logistics of all weddings and private events. Taking ownership of the event from the point of handover from sales; you will assist the client in meticulously planning all of the finer details for their special day. Your role will see you conducting site inspections, client meetings, supplier meetings, event planning, menu tastings, meet and greet on event days and post event follow up to ensure absolute satisfaction for each client.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Events, you will be joining a team of event professionals with a passion for hospitality and love having fun while creating profitable sales opportunities. Join us in delivering exceptional events in an unforgettable space.

Event Coordinator
Event Manager
Food & Beverage Manager
Venue Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

The experience, qualities and skills you’ll need

  • Strong experience in an event management or planning role within a high end venue or boutique event management agency – preferably specialising in weddings and private events
  • Outstanding ability to really listen to clients, understand their event vision and provide tailored, expert advice to bring their dream wedding or celebration to life
  • Possess creative flair and a desire to continually grow your knowledge of industry trends
  • Passion for exceptional customer service and building strong, personable relationships with clients and industry suppliers
  • A proven track record in reaching set individual and team targets and KPI's
  • Possess superior attention to detail, strong communication skills, ability to multitask and work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Display a positive, can-do attitude at all times
  • Computer savvy and experience with event software and floorplan design – Venue Op's and event draw preferred
