JOB DESCRIPTION

We lovingly operate some of Melbourne's most iconic hospitality venues, precincts and venues including Belles Hot Chicken, Welcome To Thornbury and Welcome To Brunswick.

Our Welcome To precincts are iconic and known right across Melbourne for hosting huge, fun events. Think Chicken Nugget Festival, Catalina Wine Mixer and even Darude playing live on NY day (actually!). To keep the party pumping, we're looking for an experienced, high-energy person to join our team organising and executing these events!

An Events Coordinator you say?

Reporting to our awesome, energetic Marketing Director, you'll spend your days organising and executing huge, high-impact public events across our precincts that put our venues on the map at all times!

Based from our CBD office, we expect you'd typically work Tuesday-Saturday - with Saturday leading the execution of the events on the ground.

Your key responsibilities will be to;

  • Take an event brief from the Marketing Director and propose how to best execute to smash the event objectives.
  • Organise contractors, suppliers, partners and entertainers and manage the budget so every event is spectacular and on budget!
  • Prepare detailed event run sheets so nothing is missed or left to chance and brief any external contractors the the operations team.
  • Liaise with the venue operations teams and lead on the day so that everything goes super smoothly and delivers a truly awesome guest experience.
  • Assist the Marketing Director with ideas for new and exciting events - combining our passions for awesome food, booze, beverages, entertainment and parties!

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

To be be perfect for this awesome role, you'll need to join us with not just a packet of passion, but strong skills and experience, including;

  • Previous experience in event coordination, organisation and management - this is a must!
  • Extensive industry-contacts - who has the best ride on bull, who can turn concrete into a beach party and who can really get the crowd vibing
  • Super organised - you're a list person and everyone needs to get in line!
  • Enjoy getting stuck in - this isn't just an office job, you're also expected to coordinate the big events.
  • Be known as someone that does what they say they will - no excuses, we're high on accountability!
  • Superior communication ability (written and verbal)
  • Optimistic all the time - there's always a solution!
