JOB DESCRIPTION

Karl’s Charcoal Chicken is renowned for the best taste of Charcoal Chicken in Sydney. We are looking for friendly and energetic Sales Assistants (Casual and Part Time) to join our team. 

Our menu starts with the delicious, juicy, and mouth-watering Charcoal Chicken in addition to our selection of salads and variety of sauces. We offer both eat-in and takeaway service for our valued customers. We are located in the new extension of Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre.

We open 7 days a week and our working hours are from 10:00 am until 10:00 PM.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure all directions from the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Manager are adhered to;
  • Ensure customers are acknowledged immediately when walking into the restaurant.
  • Answering phone calls (e.g. pick-up orders and general enquiries)
  • Preparing takeaway orders in takeaway bags/containers
  • Preparing eat-in orders
  • Preparing and serving beverages
  • Communicating with kitchen/front staff in timely manner if any issues arise
  • General cleaning and sanitising duties (e.g. wiping & resetting tables, sweeping floors, sanitising dine-in trays, sanitising pagers, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning tiles and benchtops) and ensure the shop is always immaculately clean.
  • Stock duties (e.g. replenishing fridge with beverages, filling sauce containers, takeaway bags, accepting and storing deliveries)
  • Ensure all restaurant operational procedures are strictly adhered to;
  • Ensure you are prompt to every shift and at least 24 hours notice is provided if you are unable to attend a shift or if you are sick, contact your manager as early as possible prior to your shift;
  • Ability to be flexible with shift work and hours
  • Other ad-hoc duties

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in the hospitality industry or a well-regarded takeaway company in the capacity of a customer service role;
  • Familiar with POS System and computer literate
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated confidence to serve customers;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);

General Requirement

  • Take reasonable care of your own safety and the safety of others and participate in health and safety training.

  • Good personal hygiene
  • A clean and tidy appearance
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required including covering for colleagues during absence.

REQUIREMENTS

Successful Candidate

  • Valid NSW RSA Licence is an advantage but not essential.
  • Energetic personality with high level of interpersonal skills
  • Patience and tact when dealing with demanding customers
  • Positive, proactive and enthusiastic persona;
  • Be well-organised and tidy
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise activities well
  • Flexible availability.
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Australian Citizenship / Permanent Resident status / Working Holiday
