JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ghanem Group are recognised for their exceptional service, hospitality and ability to create unforgettable dining experiences in cutting edge designed venues. Ghanem Group operate a number of award-winning venues in Brisbane and Melbourne, most notably the multi-award winning Blackbird Bar and Grill and Donna Chang.

Located on George St in Brisbane city Boom Boom Room offers some of Brisbanes best Japanese cuisine alongside a carefully curated bevergae program of Japanese whisky, sake, wine and cocktails.

Candidates will ideally already have a solid foundation in hospitality operations but we are also willing to train passionate newcomers. Personality and a thirst for knowledge will have you at the head of the pack within these roles. 

We are seeking professional waitstaff who have the passion and ability to provide our guests with a superior dining experience.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Greeting and escorting customers to their tables
  • Arranging table settings and maintaining a tidy dining area
  • Providing detailed information on menus and make recommendations
  • Taking customer orders and delivering food and beverages
  • Delivering checks and closing out bill payments

All Ghanem venues offer a staff meal at 4pm for the team to enjoy before dinner service and offer a 30% staff discount across all GG venues.

Flexibilty for hours across multiple venues for thew right candidates.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in a similar role and environment, coupled with the following skills and attributes:

  • Previous Food & Beverage experience - min 2 years wait staff 
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Active listening and effective communication
  • Excellent presentation and hygiene
  • Hands-on experience with cash handling and ordering information system
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of food health and safety handling

Please keep in mind that this role will operate in shifts which may include late nights, weekends and holidays.
