Job Brief

We are seeking a ‘Head Bartender’ to join our team. Located in the heart of Melbourne CBD our brand-new restaurant, ‘Hoiana’ will be serving Modern Vietnamese cuisines with a wide range of complimenting beverages to our patrons. Reporting to the business owners you will be expected to have a positive attitude in managing, leading, and training the bar team.  Moreover, your skills will be applied to perfect and create new drink menu items, maintaining drink quality, inventory management and working with the management team on creating and perfecting the Hoiana image.

Responsibilities

• Manage, Supervise and coordinate activities of the bar team
• Ensure proper pouring, mixing, blending of drinks (including coffee)
• Collaborate with upper management to create and or improve on the drinks menu
• Maintain a high level of food safety and hygiene at all time
• Maintain logs for the food safety program and food products (bar)
• Stock management and procurement
• Staff training
• Management of budgets, and expenses

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a bartender or roles above
• Level 3 WSET certification or equivalent (highly regarded)
• Certificate IV in hospitality or equivalent
• Has a valid food safety certificate
• Has a Valid RSA certificate
• Understanding of Vietnamese culture
• Has extensive knowledge of monitoring beverage costs and minimising waste
• Must be fast, reliable, and organised
• Strong communication skills are essential
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Passionate, ambitious and a team player
