JOB DESCRIPTION

One of the Lower North Shore’s premium dining venues requires an experienced Head Chef to join its professional team.

We are a well-established Lower North Shore restaurant with a dedicated team of experienced professionals committed to providing a quality yet relaxed dining experience to our customers.

We are currently seeking applicants with the following attributes

  • Experience in a busy a la carte dining restaurant
  • Able to work shifts covering  lunch and dinner and weekend brunch
  • Work calmly under pressure
  • Ability to work within a small friendly team.
  • Available on a full-time basis

You will

  • Be expected to provide leadership, coordinate and support staff and create a secure and safe working environment across the venue.
  • Be mature and responsible enough to work unsupervised,
  • Have a strong and dependable work ethic,
  • Have a passion for hospitality and providing quality food,
  • Enjoy working as part of a small team to grow the business.
  • Have a solid background in modern Australian and European cuisine

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Head Chef

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of proven experience as Head Chef
  • Plan & create menus and weekly specials
  • Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
  • Building positive relationships with staff
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety & food safety standards
  • Identify, develop and maintain establishment policies and procedures
  • Impart knowledge, skills and training to all kitchen staff
  • Keep food & labour costs to establishment requirements
  • Join and be an active part of the management meeting
