JOB DESCRIPTION

Laundy Hotels are seeking a Head Chef to join the team at the Locker Room located at Sydney Olympic Park.

The Locker Room takes the traditional pub offering to an elevated experience with an amazing interior and stunning rooftop boasting a cocktail bar with a fireplace. The venue offers large functions spaces and showcases live sports with major stadiums located right on the doorstep. The venue is perfect for families, locals and visitors who are looking for a destination to spend time together and enjoy a fantastic food and beverage offering.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a maternity leave position (approx. 12 months), with the opportunity for the right candidate to relocate to a different venue within the Laundy Hotels Group at the end of the contract. 
  
As the Head Chef at the Locker Room, you are responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Manage a high performing team and ensure a high standard of consistency and quality across the kitchen
  • Design and implement new ideas for exceptional seasonal menu's 
  • Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen and run shifts back-to-back 
  • Have a passion and desire for food and to not settle for second best 
  • Ensuring that food costs and wages are meeting budget

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

WHO ARE YOU
As a driven, passionate and focused individual you will possess the following attributes and skills:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as Head Chef 
  • Committed to the best standards of food preparation and service 
  • Experience with seasonal fresh cook to order menu's 
  • Knowledge and experience of kitchen food safety systems 
  • Can work under pressure and is an excellent team player 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills 
  • Relevant skills for stocktaking and cost control 
  • Ensure a safe working environment
