JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a full time Chef and prep/production manager for Ume Burger in Darling Square.

Successful applicant will have a proven track record managing a kitchen, directing a small team of staff, and a view to taking on a long term role with opportunity for advancement.

This role is for an immediate start, with ideally 1 month training with the outgoing head chef to prepare for full time position in mid January 2023.

Responsibilities will include inventory control and ordering, managing staffing and rosters, maintaining stock levels and food quality, and overseeing daily food service operations from the kitchen side.

Our shop in darling square is quite small but handles good volumes with a tight team, and needs a chef who can handle the grill, fry and assembly section under pressure, and be proud to up what they serve.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants need to be punctual, reliable, honest, hard working, know how to keep thier sections clean and be able to work with others in a team.

Duties Include:

Cooking burgers

Assembling burgers

Using the deep fryer

Making sauces

Examining food to be served in high quality

demonstrating effective stock rotation and safe work practices

Regulating temperatures of grill, fryers and other cooking equipment

Portion Control

Storing food in temperature controlled  environment

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
