In the heart of the city’s most renowned nightlife precinct, the Kings Cross Hotel is a Sydney institution and an enduring icon. Bridging the divide between the Kings Cross of old and the evolving face of the ‘New’ Cross, the KXH remains firmly committed to bringing on the Good Times.

Six floors of diverse spaces, the area’s best rooftop bar and an eclectic roster of live entertainment make Kings Cross Hotel Sydney both a laidback local hang-out and the city’s premier party destination – a level of choice for every taste, mood and day of the week. Steeped in history and legend, the legacy of the Cross lives on at the Kings Cross Hotel.

With exciting refurbishment plans underway, this will be an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef, looking to create a high quality pub offering for our new bistro concept – coming soon.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will be in charge of our overall kitchen operations across the Sports Bar, Bistro & Functions offerings at the Kings Cross Hotel.

Catering to our loyal patrons daily & with a thriving functions offering, the kitchen offers a well organised, quality service and the opportunity for future new concepts on the horizon.

Your role will involve all of the kitchen operation essentials, including the day to day management of the service, training and upskilling the brigade, back of house administration, building relationships with suppliers and designing unique seasonal specials and menus that get the tastebuds going.

Your exceptional leadership skills and ability to multi task a busy operation will set you up for success and enable you to hit the ground running. Reporting to the Group Executive Chef, you will have exceptional mentors at your fingertips and the opportunity to collaborate, inspire and create!

We are on the hunt for an experienced Head Chef who has led the kitchens of some of Sydney’s most iconic pubs or venues, who is looking to make their mark! If you are passionate about plating and cooking food you are proud of, your creativity will be cultivated here.
