About the Role

We are searching for a full-time Head Chef to lead our outlets within the Manly Precinct. Working closely with the Head of Culinary and other members of the senior leadership team, you will drive BHG’s vision and achieve our strategic goals within the culinary space. The initial focus of this role is to build and develop an exceptionally capable Kitchen team and lead them to deliver operational excellence and foster a positive culture. To do this you will: 

  • Lead and support senior chefs in people management practices for the precinct including recruitment, onboarding, training and development;
  • Ensure chefs are fulfilling their responsibilities as listed in their independent job profiles and provide support and training as necessary; 
  • Manage labour, COGs and operational costs using across all areas of the Precinct to ensure adequate staffing and stock levels to run an efficient service while maintaining profitability within budget (Cooking the Books);
  • Deliver on-trend, relevant, seasonal food offerings;
  • Oversee maintenance of all food offerings and their delivery for the precinct.

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

About You

If you're the right fit for this role you will have 8+ years experience leading a large team within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment. You’ll also:

  • Be motivating and engaging in the pursuit of delivering operational excellence;
  • Be resilient - able to manage situations and constant change;
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have a refined business acumen with proven growth results.
  • Have a First Aid certificate or willingness to attain.
