JOB DESCRIPTION

Hotel Canobolas is an iconic venue in Orange, NSW. A large country Hotel with a unique intimate feel; combining great service, food, entertainment and accommodation. This is a venue loved by locals and visitors alike. It has long been known for its family friendly dining and country hospitality. 
 
The Opportunity
As Head Chef you will bring the experience and skills to run a fully functioning kitchen and the desire to push new limits and inject your creative flair whenever possible. With a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, you are going to take charge of this busy venue, demonstrating to your team the power of great leadership and commitment to service.
 
Hotel Canobolas is ready to take the next step in its food offering, so we are looking for someone who wants to take full ownership of the kitchen and put their own signature to the menus and dishes. You will need to have a passion for using locally sourced product and creating something really special, as you transform the dining room into local favourite and a must go to for all visitors. 
 
As Head Chef of Hotel Canobolas your input and guidance will be highly valued. You will work with a great team and be supported and mentored by our Group Executive Chef and broader team whenever required.

REQUIREMENTS

Your Attributes:

  • You are passionate about hospitality and raising the “bar” within the NSW pub-food scene. Offering a point of difference with a dedication to quality at all times.
  • You are a team player, someone who strives to bring your team together and working in unison with the service team to deliver exceptional experiences to all guests.
  • You react well under pressure, keeping calm and level-headed as you guide your team through the pressures of peak service times.
  • You are passionate about using local produce, with an ability to build strong working relationships with suppliers and farmers of the region. 


 Your Experience:

  •  You are skilled chef and leader, with the ability to inspire your team through the dishes you create and your approachable management style.
  • You will have proven experience in managing budgets, labour costs and good people management.
  •  You are known for identifying any issues and resolving them quickly and effectively.
  •  You understand how to deliver Contempory pub food, and are able to create inspired dishes using local produce.
