JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to the newly refurbished Thoroughbred Bakery, Bar & Restaurant is an iconic building set in the heart of Australia’s horse capital. Thoroughbred is an award winning Hotel located in Scone and The Local favorite.

we are looking for a Short hand cook who can also perform kitchen hand duties and help across the kitchen functions. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with food preparation such as cutting vegetables, fruits and meats, and measuring ingredients.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces according to health and safety standards.
  • Assist with dishwashing, cleaning of dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Stock and maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of food being prepared.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and meat.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
