JOB DESCRIPTION

Humble Spud is hiring!

We are a Traditional Irish Chipper that has recently opened in St Kilda & we are looking for an experienced cook to join and lead our kitchen crew! If you have a passion for all things chips, thrive in a fast paced environment & enjoy working in a team - then this role could be for you!

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all staff in the cooking & preparing of all menu items ensuring food is served consistently
  • Maintaining & implementing the highest standard of food quality, ensuring staff consistently adhere to recipe & portion sizes
  • Leading the team to ensure the kitchen is cleaned & sanitised at all times
  • In charge of maintaining kitchen stock levels, ordering weekly & reporting on sales trends
  • Manage/train all staff including management of weekly roster
  • Working collaboratively with both BOH & FOH staff
  • Keep up to date with food trends/update menu.

About you:

  • Must be able to communicate clearly & work within a team
  • Thrive working in fast paced environments
  • Have initiative in the kitchen, be able to work autonomously & delegate tasks to staff.

Please note this role is a full time position - you need to be available to work evenings & weekends.


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Kitchen Hand
Duty Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least 2 years experience working in a kitchen
  • Have experience & be confident in stock control/ordering
  • Fast food experience is mandatory (please don't apply if you don't have this).
