JOB DESCRIPTION

Applejack is stoked to announce that in collaboration with URBNSURF, we will be opening Sydney’s first wave park and hospitality precinct at Olympic Park in early 2024.  
  
Applejack + URBNSURF Sydney sits on a 3.6-hectare site and will accommodate up to 1,400 daily visitors, 7 days a week. While URBNSURF will manage the world-class Wave Garden technology and park operation, Applejack will manage the hospitality including: 

  • Premium Restaurant: Applejack's hatted restaurant RAFI will open its second location on level 1, accommodating 200 seats, a private dining room, and a terrace cocktail bar with panoramic views of the wave pool and park.
  • Convertible Event and Meetings Space: The Surf Suite will be a versatile space designed for hosting corporate meetings, leadership days, award evenings, birthdays, and weddings. 
  • All-Day Café, Casual Eatery, and Cocktail Bar: 'Sandy's' located on the ground-floor will cater to guests, board riders, and pool enthusiasts year-round, from breakfast through to dinner, coffee to cocktails.
  • Poolside Cabanas and Cabana Lawn: catering to 800 people, this dynamic space will be the perfect spot for picnics, sundowners, and events. 
  • Event Field – 'The Hill': Applejack will collaborate with URBNSURF to coordinate large-scale events, surfing competitions, concerts, and more at 'The Hill', where the opportunities are endless for pool-side events & activations.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

To be a successful candidate for this role, you will need to have the ability to lead and work in a small team, have great customer service skills, and a minimum 2 year’s experience working in a busy restaurant. Alongside the previous, you will also need the following:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about food and beverage
  • Outgoing, talkative, confident and energetic when speaking with both guests and colleagues.
  • Sound financial and business acumen
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • The ability to keep your team motivated and exceeding all KPI's
  • Flexibility when it comes to rosters 
  • Gregarious outgoing personality with a touch of sophistication
