We require several confident / competent cooks with at least 2 years of relevant experience (cook qualification preferred) for our busy takeaway restaurant kitchen in Kings Park, Sydney.

The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

- Performing general kitchen duties such as cooking and order preparation as per our specification

- Ensuring overall quality of food served to customers meets our high standards and is served in a timely fashion.

- Assisting with the day to day running of the shop and kitchen

- Monitoring stock levels and proactively prepping if necessary (chopping vegetables / topping up sauces, etc)

- Advising kitchen manager when prepared menu items (such as house made sauces) are running low so new batches can be made ahead of time

- Advising kitchen manager in advance of all items that are running low, such as takeaway packaging, cleaning supplies, wrap bread and other food items

- Helping to ensure quality control with regards to both raw produce and packaged products (correct stock items and quantities are received and everything is well within its expiry date)

- Proactively reporting any / all issues to kitchen manager

- General kitchen cleaning such, sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces and equipment to a high standard

The ideal candidate will possess the following personal attributes:

- Excellent verbal communication skills with native level English

- Exemplary personal hygiene and grooming (overall hygiene, both personal and professional is extremely important)

- Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis on proactive thinking (such as being mindful of any potential problems that might occur as well as monitoring packaging and food inventory so it is ordered before stock becomes too low)

- Ability to comprehend and implement detailed instructions

- Able to perform tasks proficiently in a high pressure environment

- Be extremely honest, trustworthy and reliable

- Be respectful and courteous to all other staff members

We have a range of shifts available between Tuesday and Sunday (6 days).

Despite the nature of the employment being casual, we can guarantee hours every week to the right candidate and potentially more hours over time.
