JOB DESCRIPTION

The Venue

Tanuki is a modern Japanese restaurant and bar located in the heart of Double Day. It is a sister venue to the likes of Matteo, Osborn House, Kittyhawk, Lobo and The Island. 

Our kitchen is headed by Chef Ken Wee Lee and boasts a contemporary Japanese izakaya menu with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Within the venue there is a 6-seater sushi counter with a focus on premium sushi and sashimi using the very best the market has to offer.

There is also an extensive Japanese bar program focusing on seasonal ingredients and premium artisanal spirits. In addition to this is a carefully curated natural, organic leaning wine and sake menu.

We are open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday and lunch from Friday to Saturday. In addition to the restaurant we also feature a vibrant busy bar area that transitions into late night lounge. 

 

The Role(s)

We are looking for a passionate, experienced and confidant candidate with the ability to identify and deliver exceptional guest experience. The ability to lead and drive the front of house team is also a must.

Food & Beverage Manager

Venue Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will require

  • 3+ years experience in an assistant restaurant manager or restaurant manager position. Hatted experience preferred.
  • Guest centric outlook to all things service related.
  • Experience with Japanese cuisine and sake is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced dynamic restaurant environment.
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills, can do attitude and well presented.
  • Ability to recognise and develop talent within the team.
  • Valid RSA
  • Full Australian working rights.
