JOB DESCRIPTION

Stuyvesant's House is an iconic Sydney restaurant and a favourite with locals in Crow's Nest. Celebrating our 60th anniversary this year, we have strong customer loyalty and work hard to preserve that. Our customers and staff become our family and enjoy our casual environment and friendly chat. 

Talking of family, the restaurant is owned by two brothers, Max and Rudi. German born and raised, the Bavarian influence is apparent not only in the menu but in the venue surroundings which gives this establishment it's uniqueness. 

As part of our team you’ll get real responsibility from the start, taking centre stage as team leader. We need you to be a confident and resilient self-starter, experienced with fine dining. Knowledge of fine wines is a bonus as Stuyvesant’s House has one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest wine selections - this will certainly help your application. 

As Restaurant Manager you are expected to be well presented, friendly, enthusiastic and willing to give 100%.  This is not a role for someone looking for training - you must be able to hit the ground running. 

Duties include running shifts, sourcing staff, rosters, stock control, ordering and all other day to day running of the business (assitance provided)

You are also required to promote and maintain the reputation of the establishment by ensuring and providing excellent customer care and service.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Food & Beverage Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

 

  • RSA Certificate
  • At least 2 years experience as restaurant manager in similar high-end/fine-dining venue
  • Clean cut appearance
  • Fluent spoken English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Resilient, self-starter in nature 
  • Some knowledge of fine wine
  • Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
  • Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
  • Assist team during trading to run meals and clearing tables
  • Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
  • Selecting, training and supervising staff
  • Taking reservations, greeting guests and assisting in taking orders
  • Answer emails and all other customer queries
